Innovation Matters | Hump Days with Hunter

What goes into a Premier on-road water tank before it ever reaches the truck?

In this episode of Hump Days with Hunter, we're heading into the Premier Water Tanks weld and assembly shop for a behind-the-scenes look at a G5000 on-road tank—and one of the design features built into it from the beginning.

Rather than relying on external piping to distribute pressurized water around the tank, the tank's frame incorporates the pressure manifold directly into the design. Water from the pump feeds the manifold, which provides connection points for the rear sprayers, front spray bar, water cannon, side sprays, and other configurations.

Integrating the manifold helps keep plumbing away from areas where external piping could interfere with tires while also giving customers greater flexibility in configuring a tank for their application.

That flexibility is important because every jobsite is different. Whether an application calls for additional side sprays, different spray locations, or another configuration, the G5000 is designed with multiple connection points to accommodate a variety of setups.

Check out the video below as Hunter follows the G5000 from its upside-down base plate in fabrication to a nearly completed water tank—and takes a closer look at the design hiding underneath.

And, of course, some pretty nice welds.
